Long term indian visa

Post by sanch_c » Mon Jun 24, 2013 1:33 pm

I received my British passport some time ago. Since i might need to travel to india shortly, i decided to apply for a 5 year multiple entry visa first and then apply for the OCI later

I received the visa yesterday (very smooth process at VFS) but i find on inspection that the field which says Signature is blank. Is that an issue? I know that often printed documents dont require a signature but i am just a bit concerned. Are there others out there with the 5 year long term visa - is the signature field blank?

regards

Hello mate,

I am also planning to apply for the long term visa to my child, who is 15 months old and holding British passport. I am on the ILR, could u please tell me end to end process.

What documents, fee, where do I apply and post it later. ? Could u please spend some time and give me advice regarding my query.

Many thanks in advance

Cheers

All details here http://in.vfsglobal.co.uk/longterm.html. if your child ever held an indian passport then that needs to be surrendered first - again details on the same page. I applied in person at the VFS in Hayes so don't know much about the postal process - i guess details would be here http://in.vfsglobal.co.uk/postalapplication.html

It would be great if somebody would pl respond on my query

Thanks for the reply.

Yes, my child only got his British passport. I never applied for the Indian passport. What shall I surrender in Hays VFS?
Is it my passport or anything else. I m really confused this part. Could u please tell me?

I have gone thru with VFS website. Details are below step by step, if I m wrong plz correct me.

1) first I need to surrender at VFS (passport or other when u reply)
2) fill up the online form
3) book appointment online
4)pay the visa fee
5)attend in person or by post
6) if post, send return special delivery envelope

And the documents to b submitted for long term visa for a child
1) copy of parents passports
2) copy of child birth certificate
3) original child British passport
4) parents consent letter
5) 4 passport photos of child
6) important- surrender certificate. Could u plz tell me what shall I surrender for this.

If I m wrong for any points above plz correct me.

Many thanks

Normally they put both signature and stamp onto the visa sticker. Has it been stamped? (green coloured)

Hi Long residence..I stumbled across your post as I am currently in the same situation you were a year ago. My baby daughter holds British passport while I'm holding ILR and an Indian citizen. Could you advise if you were successful in applying5 year visit for your baby then..what the procedure and docs where and did it take long?

I would really appreciate your reply
