We want to settle with two children who we have guardianship

Post by sebyle » Mon Jun 24, 2013 9:54 pm

I have quite a complicated case here, it would be great if someone could help us with advice.
I am a british, French and Moroccan citizen my partner is a British and Moroccan citizen. We have been living in England for more than 15 years, the last 18month I lived in Morocco where we applied to be legal guardian of two children ( non family related).
We are now in England with two year visas visit for the kids.

We now have decided that we would like to all settle together in England with my husband.

We don't really now what to do? apply for settlement visa, indefinite leave to remain or maybe we have to go threw the adoption process in England.

Thanks for your help

The child/children may have automatic rights to be British (subject to the adoption) or they could possibly register as British, it depends on a number of factors and also whether The Hague convention is in play. I suggest you seek legal advice, looking at adoption with a view to citizenship.

Thanks for your reply,
Morocco is not party to the Hague Convention
