Hello
I'm new to the forums and although i've read a few posts i'm still needing some help on my situation.
I've been with my partner who is from Russia now for just over 4 years. We have been waiting for a few years now to apply for this and now that we are prepared to settle down, we realised how difficult this could be.
As the financial requirements state, a salary of £18,600 is needed to progress a Fiance visa. As it stands just now i am earning £12,750 which is a considerably lower amount. From what we have both read on the UKBA website no external help can be given however i have had the kind offer from my mother whereby we would not need to pay rent and council tax.
Obviously that isn't the long term goal, however i felt it may have been significant until i read that no external help would be considered.
I then read about the savings side of things and noticed that I would need savings of approximatley £33,000 (or more!)
I currently have savings of just £4,000 and being honest we wouldn't need half of that once we were settled.
To the point, is there anything we can both do to otherwise obtain a fiance visa? I noticed they also would not allow loans...being silly but checking, this would involved bank loans i assume?
Hopefully we can get some positive news from this. Very stresfull times
P.S.
I should probably add
My mother has also said she would gift me any shortfall i would have, for example she would gift £500 per month however i'm not sure how relevant that can/will be?
