regarding transit visa

Can anybody let me know regarding transit visa. I am travelling from Nepal to Canada. While, my transit is in london for 40 hours. And, I want a transit visa to go outside of the london heathrow. Can somebody let me know how to apply for the visa and what are the documents required?

You may not need a visa if you have valid entry visa for Canada and a valid airline ticket.The website tells you more.
