UKBA recieved close to 80,000 Appeals in 2011

In 2011, UKBA received 79,893 appeals against visa refusals. Of these, 26,205 were still outstanding as at 31st August 2012. But of the appeals processed, 46% (nearly half!) were allowed by the Immigration Judge.

I wonder what the volume will be in 2013.

what I find astounding in those statistics - putting the win/loss ratios to one side (as those don't, really, surprise me) - is the shear volume of the appeals.

33,600 appeals in a QUARTER!

That's around 516 every working day!

No wonder UKBA don't attend all of them!
