EEA3 Questions

Post by kb88383p » Mon Jul 01, 2013 1:32 pm

My wife and I are both EEA citizens who moved to the UK at different times (she Mar 2008 and me Sep 2008).

We are thinking filing a single EEA3 form after I hit my 5 year period would be helpful but didn't know if it made more sense to split our applications. Any thoughts here would be helpful.

Also, if we decide to file jointly for section 9.12 we are conufesed about two things:
(i) Does this need to be for the primary applicant as well as all family members? Or is this just for the applicant?
(ii) What level of detail is the UKBA looking for here (i.e., short responses like 'born and raised' or a tome of sorts to substantiate your relationship to that area)?

Thanks in advance for any help you guys can provide.

The forum search function is a great tool.

See similar question - 9.12 of EEA 3 Form.

yeah I saw that reply, but it was the only one of its kind on 9.12 I saw and I was confident that you couldn't just ignore sections of a UKBA filing, hence the question

Have you read the cover page of the form?
Please note it is not mandatory to complete this application form.

I did see that but I thought that was intimating that there are other ways to prove permanent residency (i.e., submitting docs with my naturalisation form next year)?

I didn't read that as I could ignore sections. Is that the way it was meant to be read?

If so, it would have been helpful for it to be more explicit and said something to the order of, "it is not mandatory to complete all sections of this form in order for UKBA to arrive at its decision, however, the more information that is provided the quicker our decision process will be." *or some derivation thereof*

Back to your original question: you can skip that section or fill it in as you wish. It has no affect on the decision (or future applications).
