When to apply for ILR? (Spouse visa)

Post by wassap » Mon Jul 01, 2013 5:28 pm

Hi Folks,

Just a quickie!

My wife arrived to live with me from Pakistan on 20th of August 2011, on a spouse visa, her visa was granted on 10th of august 2011. Just wondering when she is meant to apply for ILR, im just in the process of getting all the paperwork together in terms of letters and photos and she's already done the Life in the UK test.

So visa is till 14/10/13, but am I right in thinking that we apply 28 days prior to the date when the 2 years are up?

Thanks
Submitted on 10/05/2011
Visa application is under process at British High Commission 18/05/2011
No interviews or Employer calls or emails
Ready for collection on 22/07/11

ILR granted 19/9/2013

Indeed. Use the SCS (click) as it enables you to keep documents and should expedite your application.

Your wife can apply 28 days before the 2nd anniversary of her entry date.
If you use the Settlement Checking Service your application won't be processed any quicker but it should ensure your documents are in order.
