EU Treaty

Post by londoneye82 » Thu Jul 04, 2013 2:18 pm

Hi there, Could someone please help me. I am a British national and my partner is pakistani, we have applied for an FLRO which has been refused along with the judicial review. we are now waiting for an oral court hearing. I am thinking if this fails to go along the routes of the surinder singh route. perhaps working in europe for a few months then applying this way. Could anyone who has taken up this route please provide any information or help about going about this method. He has no status in the UK and we applied as a partner of a British citizen living together for 7 years. any help would be most appreciated. Thank you.x

I heard that Spain and Italy take a lot of time to issue the residence card, up to six months, which would all add to the time spent outside the UK. Also, Italy and Spain are not exactly in a very good position economically, so you will face a lot of competition for any sort of job.

Will you be okay with your work to be away for such a long time? Moving to another country is not cheap or easy but returning from abroad isn't either.

As far as I have heard, Germany and Austria are very efficient and quick about the whole process. Residence cards are usually issued within three to four weeks after application.
