ILR Questions

Post by hunter443 » Fri Jul 05, 2013 11:52 pm

Hi
I have a few questions regarding ILR. My wife came to the UK on a spouse visa in November 2011 and her 2 years will be up in november, 4 months time. What is the earliest date i can apply for her ILR and what is the latest date that the application must be submitted by?
I am a university student who will graduate in septmeber and am not currently working but hopefully will get a job soon, if i am unable to get a job what will the implications be and also if i was to claim jsa will this have a negative affect, also would a jsa claim be a single or joint claim, (will i get money for both people or only me).
Last question is there any sticky page where all documents needed for ILR are listed
Thanks

From 28 days before the two year qualifying period is up. The jsa should be a single person amount but based on both income. Basically you'll make a joint claim, but as your partner is subject to immigration control you'll only be paid a single person amount.

In order to meet the requirements for set(m) you must, amongst other things, be able to adequately maintain and accommodate yourself. Does your wife work? Do you have any savings?

Should be ok and you'll be claiming JSA and looking for work. Hopefully, you'll have a job anyway.
