Bank Statement requirment for spouse visa

Post by yasir82 » Sun Jul 07, 2013 8:20 pm

Hello everyone,

I have alot about this forum so i though i would give a try.

Actually i need a advise on couple of matters, Firstly In 4 to 5 month time i am applying spouse visa for my mrs in pakistan I have british citizenship, I was jobless before but I recently got a job (2 months now) so i started lining up everything i need e.g pay slips, accommodation, contract etc but due to fact that i was jobless before my bank statement is over drawn now, although i get my wages in my account but obviously it will take some time for me to sort out my balance, if any statement is over drawn within 6 months statement can it cause refusal ? I may be able to wipe my overdraft in 2 to 3 months maximum.

other thought i had in mind if that is the case then i ll go for visit visa for my mrs, but someone told me that its not good if you go for visit visa it could jeopardize the spouse visa case

I was searching homeoffice website for answers but couldn't find it, will it actually matters an over drawn bank statement in terms for spouse visa.

Secondly, on new job do we have to wait till 6 months or can it be sooner?

Please could someone shed some light on this, put me out of this misery as i am quite worried right now.

Thanks all for reading.

Regards

It does not matter if you are overdrawn. If you have not earned the threshold in the last 12 months, you will need to wait until you have worked 6 months. The calculation will be the lowest month's Gross wage slip in the last 6 months x 12. If this meets the threshold then you can apply under Cat A after working 6 months. Savings over £16k can also be used to help meet the financial requirement.
