Settlement Spouse visa - English lanuge requirement - query

Post by venugopal1 » Mon Jul 08, 2013 12:14 pm

Hi,

My wife had submitted application for settlement spouse visa from VFS, Chennai, India on 17th June 2013. Waiting for decision from BHC.

I need some clarifications on the proofs we have submitted for English language requirement is sufficient?.

I have submitted following documents:
1. Original Bachelors and Master degree certificate (from Madurai Kamaraj university)
2. Medium of instruction certificate from college for master degree.
3. UK NARIC certificate for English language assessment both the degrees mentioned.

Also above degree and university is listed in UK points based calculator.

Is the above documents are sufficient to meet English language requirement or should I need to submit UK NARIC statement of comparability as well?. Is there is way I can submit that certificate now, have anyone done it earlier? Please help...

Cheers,
Venu

It should be recognised by UK NARIC to be equivalent to the standard of a Bachelor's or Master's degree or PhD in the UK you can send further evidence anytime to the same place other evidence was sent with a covering letter,

Hi,

I have sent email to vfs to check about sending the document, they said that once the application is submitted further addition of documents is not possible. Not sure what to do now. I am really confused :(

You cannot use any degree from India to satisfy the English Language requirement as India is not considered an English Speaking country. Check the list of English speaking countries on the UKBA website. Your wife's appliation should be refused based on the above information.

venugopal1 just to add that the above items you mentioned was not taken into consideration when I posted above. You seem to have met the English Requirement for your spouse. Cheers!
