OCI Application from India

Hi,

I have recently got my naturalisation followed by British Passport. I would want to travel to India by end of august 2013 and have few queries below and would be grateful if any members can reply

- I havent surrendered my Indian passport , if i surrender now how long will it take to get the surrender certificate ?
- If i travel to India on visa, can i apply for OCI card from india and stay in India for more than 180 days ?

1. depends on where you apply. E.g. if submitted at VFS office in London (Goswell Road) it will take 3-4 days. Postal submissions and non London VFS offices will take longer to process. Check the sticky on passport surrender.
