Anyone had problems getting on a flight to Ireland?

Post by Jellybean105 » Wed Jul 10, 2013 5:46 pm

Hi there

I wanted to know if anyone has had problems before getting on a flight to Ireland? My husband doesn't have a visa but we would like to go there. I understand it might be difficult getting through immigration in Ireland but will they let him board the plane in the UK?
Do the airlines have any idea about the eu law and will they let him board. i remember getting the passport checked once or twice before getting on the plane but was that for ID or to check the nationality/visa? What experience have people had regarding this.

Other option is to go by ferry and get to a checkpoint in Ireland where they can stamp his passport with an entry stamp.

Thanks for your help!
