Hi
me nd my wife got ilr recently, i hav a daughter born in uk on july 2006 but she still has discretionary leave on her passport until feb 2014. the form asking for date of ilr granted which she hasn't. Do i have to apply for ilr first or can directly apply for naturalization....plz kindly help

You can apply directly for citizenship as your child is entitled to register (not naturalise) by virtue of section 1(3) [not 3(1)].

Hi:

I am currently completing MN1 form for my son. He was born abroad in 2003 and came to live here in 2009. Got his ILR in 2010. I recently naturalised and will be applying for Registration for my son.

Which Section of the British Nationality Act should I apply under?

3(1) but that depends on the immigration status of the other parent?

My wife is applying for Naturalisation as the wife of a British Citizen at the same time I am applying for Registration of my son. Both applications are going together....

Should I leave Section 3 in the application blank as none of us are British by Decent... I am British by naturalisation..
