Questions about becoming LEGAL

Post by TearzOfAPrincess » Wed Feb 28, 2007 9:37 pm

Hey everyone! I have a friend that has been living in the US for 14 years and has never been in trouble with the police or anything. He was picked up on monday by immigration and they took him some where here in Ill and then they have him in Wisconsin now. He said that they would let him go for $5000.00... Well that was on monday he told us and then yesterday we didnt talk to him. Today we talked to him and he said that he has to stay in Wisconsin for 72 hours and then they will send him back here to ILL and they will let him out but he has to work and get the $5000.00 to pay them. does this sound legit to any of you. When he gets out I want to help him and make sure nothing happens to him anymore.. Can anyone give me any suggestions.. I know alot of people say call a lawyer but i have heard you can get the applications and stuff like that off line and i was wondering if anyone would help me. He is from Mexico and he speaks a little bit of english and i dont know that much of spanish since i am white. Can anyone help me understand what are the first steps.

Thank You,.
