Dear All,

I hope you are well.

My question is as follows:

My wife was issued a spouse visa October 2012, my company is now opening a Dubai office this year, it has always been our dream to live in Dubai.

I was wondering if it would be possible for me to work in Dubai as an Expat without affecting my wifes visa application? she is due for ILR in 2015, we are expecting our first baby in September also.

Please can some one guide me on what they feel I should do.

Many Thanks!

Best Regards!

I gather she entered the UK this year and I gather the application was made prior to July 2012? For set(m), which is what will be used for your wife to settle, you can have limited absence for good reason. Now there is no clear cut definition of limited but one would not expect that to amount to the full probationary period. Travel for employment reasons should amount to good reason so your hurdle would be the 'limited' factor. You could go for the job, just bear in mind the amount of time you're there.
