PBS Dependent ILR eligibility (Urgent)

Post by raghavsey » Mon Jul 15, 2013 3:02 am

Hi,
I was hoping some of the members on this forum could advice me on my situation.

I am currently on a PBS Dependent Visa and came to UK in 2009 with my
father who is on a Tier 1 General Visa and we wish to apply for our
Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) in June 2014.

I have just finished my Masters degree in Engineering at Newcastle
University and I am planning to accept a job offer and start working full-time for a company near London.

I was concerned that though my current visa says I am permitted to
work, however the ‘Settlement applications by your dependent’ page on
UKBA website mentions that the dependent ‘should not be leading an
independent life’.

I wanted to ask would my living away from home, working full-time and
earning a salary would affect my eligibility when applying for ILR
along with my father.

Your advice on the matter will be much appreciated!
