Tier2 General Extension & ILR query

Hi,

I am a little baffled to figure out the period of grants if I apply 'leave to remain' under Tier 2 General next year and would like to ask you for help.

I was granted entry clearance under Tier 2 ICT on Oct 2010 and then switched to Tier 2 General on March 2012

Looking at the chart on page 38 from 'Tier 2 policy guidance' http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/visas ... 2/general/, I wonder if I apply for extension under Tier 2 general, would the period of grants be 3 more years or 1.5 (minus the yrs under tier 2 ICT).

I might not have the opportunity to apply for ILR if it is 1.5 years as ICT after 2010 doesn't counted towards 5 yrs settlement and the cap of 6 years tier 2 include those years.

I would be really grateful for any of your reply.
