UK Visitors Visa

Post by samrat_g » Tue Jul 16, 2013 1:45 pm

Hi all,

My father-in-law has a visa appoinment at VFS kolkata tomorrow. I am sponsoring for his visit in the UK. Unfortunately, I haven't received the last six month bank statements as yet, which was order last week. I have a Green Bank account and hence the bank statements were requested. Due to the time constraints, I have decided to take internet print out of my transactions and attach a letter from my bank(which they have kindly issued) confiming my account numbers and balance till date.

Will this be acceptable by the UKBA.

A quick response will be much appreciated.

Hi Samrat,

My parents also applied for uk general visitor visa on 4th July, 2013 from Kolkata but they did not receive the visa yet and their travel date is also coming close. Can you please let me know whether your father-in-law has received the visa? I have been posting in this forum, if anyone else is also facing the problem for the long processing time, who applied from Kolkata. I can assume the expected date for visa receiving at least. Any response will be really helpful.

Thanks,

Hi,

My Father-in-Law applied on 17th July from Kolkata and his visa was stamped dated 28th July 2013. He travelled to the UK on 3rd August. It seems to me a bit long in your case. The suggested processing time in the UKBA website is 15 working days. You are over 15 working days. Please try to contact VFS to get some update.

Good luck..

That's great.. Congrats..... Yes I have been contacting VFS, no luck on that. Nobody comments on the processing time. Thanks a lot for your reply. Just one query, did you apply through fast track?

No, it was not a fast track application because this is his first visit to the UK.

Why not you contact British High Commission New Delhi. They might be able to give you an update.

VFS is just a document collection agency and I doubt they will be able to give any updates on your parents visa application.

The delay could be due to the fact that it is a peak travel season.

Good luck.
