parents visit

Post by drdh4 » Wed Jul 17, 2013 10:50 am

Hi all,

Just a quick question, hope somebody had a similar experience.

My wife and I are on T 1(G) visa till 2014 JAN (planning to apply for ILR in DECEMBER 2013) my parents are planning for a UK trip in October 2013 for a few weeks. My question is,

Do we have to send our original documents for their visa? Such as bank statements, payslips & council tax bills & utility bills etc? (since we are getting ready for our ILR don't want the docs to get misplaced)

They will be staying with us during their visit.
Am I right in thinking that original invitation letter from both of us and original no objection letter from the landlord are the only ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS needed & photo copies of the rest of the documents are sufficient?

Thanks in advance

I personally would include an original invitation letter but people with a scanned copy of the sponsorship also received visa.

original NOC from landlord is not mandatory infact NOC from landlord is also again optional - subject to the nature of the tenany agreement. if you have a standard assured shorthold tenancy agreement, then it won't explicitly restrict guests or short term visitors. Do check the 'dos and don'ts in your contract - if it doesn't prevent you, then NOC is not required.
