from Family Permit to EEA21

My wife is an EEA national (Polish) and I am Sri Lankan. We came to UK on a family visa. I have few questions:

1. How long before family visa expired should I apply for Residence Card?

2. After I apply for Residence Card will I receive any document saying I can legally work in UK (before I receive official answer)?

3. My wife is actually on polish maternity leave. After it will be finished she will officially resign from work in Poland and she will be staying in UK at home with the baby. How should I fill forms regarding her? She is not working, not retired, not jobseeker, not student etc. Can she be considered as economically self- sufficient? I am currently working in UK so will my payslips be enough to prove it?

4. Does my wife need to apply for a registration certificate? I know it might be helpful but it also takes around six months. Is it possible for me to receive Residence Card without her registration certificate?

2. After I will send my application I will receive some certificate saying I can work legally in UK (or I cannot work) during the time my application will be processed. On what does it depend that I can or cannot? Should I be afraid? I am already working legally in a good hotel as a chef.

3. My wife as economically self - sufficient - will my payslips and her polish insurance be enough?

4. To apply for her registration certificate we can send it in the same envelope and it will be useful.

EEA2 RC is just mere confirmation of residence right and you can apply anytime.

Yes. Usually for married couples EEA2 RC application the COA will confirm right of work which will meet the employment needs.

For self sufficiency usually an EEA national is expected to have acces to funds even non-eu national is supporting for which ideally joint account/transfer of funds to EEA national account needs. Polish health insurance need to cover all family members in majority of circumstances.

4. To apply for her registration certificate we can send it in the same envelope and it will be useful.

Yes. EEA1 is optional but can be sent in same envelope with the cost of £55.

Regarding this - can she transfer money to our UK account and this will be enough proof or should she make the print out of income from polish account?

Polish health insurance - is private, so then her insurance should be translated and attached to the application?

And last question - with RC I can pass the border without her, right? And how it is about visiting other European Union countries? Like going for holidays to Poland or Spain, do I need visa then?

if travel together with EEA national wife then visa not need for EU countries otherwise need.
