URGENT Lost passport with visitor visa -- please help!!

Post by menwall » Wed Jul 17, 2013 4:44 pm

Hi all,

My girlfriend is due to travel in 48 hours to the UK and can't find her passport anymore with her UK visitor visa inside. If she goes to the police in her home country (thailand) and gets an emergency travel document, how should she proceed with getting her visitor visa confirmed? Please advise!!

Thanks.

You should contact whoever issued the visit visa.

AFAIK on receipt of a new passport she needs to apply for a new visa with similar documentation submitted previously. The decision is expected to be quicker but the process will be the same as the original visa application.

You need to contact the issuer to see what evidence they require, likely a police report for lost/stolen passport.
