VAF1B - Visa validity and time of entry, pay ticket or wait?

My question is if the time of entry and exit is strictly depending on the dates written on the visa. If my wife's parents enter the UK after the initial date of validity of the 6 months visa, will they have to leave at the end of the visa expiry date or can they stay 6 months according to the stamp on their passport?

Hi Vinny, thanks but I'm still a bit confused.

Let's say they want to stay six months and the VAF1B visa is for six months. If they enter later than the 1st day of validity of the visa, will they have to leave at the date of expiry written or the visa or can they stay until the 6 months have passed?
