Urgent Help. Employer awaiting call from the UKBA about CoS?

Post by shahbaz1 » Sun Jul 21, 2013 1:49 pm

Hi, My employer says that my details are now on the UKBA website but they are awaiting a call from the UKBA in relation to the certificate of sponsorship and that they will contact me as soon as they have it. What could be the reason for this? Shouldn't the employer be able to assign the CoS instantly? My tier 4 visa got shortened due to early completion of course and I have until 1st September to apply for a tier 2 visa.

It could be they've requested a restricted CoS and are waiting for the results of their request (these are assessed monthly), or it could be their licence is up for renewal, or they've run out of allocation and need more CoS. Not necessarily a problem.

Thanks for the post. Yes, you are right, they started renewing their tier 2 licence on around 15th June 2013. How long do you think it will take to renew their licence and issue me a CoS?. My job starts on 5th August 2013, do you recommend that I apply through the standard postal method or use the premium service? Thanks

Don't apply unless the CoS has been issued. Your employer needs to put pressure on the UKBA sponsor licensing unit re the renewal of their licence.
