LIUK test Original or Copy urgent?

Post by ilrapp2012 » Mon Jul 22, 2013 12:38 pm

Dear seniors,

Now, this is a weird question asked by NCS service, when I was about to book an appointment. They asked, "Do you have the LIUK test certificate with you and we want originial only not the copies". I said, we have only copies as when we applied for settlement(ILR), HO kept the original one.

Now, the lady did not book my appointment even I tried to convince her that, we do not need to have it as it is in the guideline that once you apply for settlement, we are fine without the original one. But, she excused and said to me, she would come back to me later on and whilst you try to contact home office to get the original one?

What does it mean? Has anyone come across with this situation before? What should I do in this situation. please if anyone can help

Many thanks

Repeated Question

Friend,

Please check the forum. This question should have been repeated a 1008 times.

You need to tick a different box. If you have submitted the original with ILR then you need to mark the box the first one at I met the knowledge of language and life requirement to qualify for settlement.

It is unlikely that the NCS will refuse to book your appointment because you do not have the original if you mentioned to them that for ILR you had submitted your original.
cheers

as the previous person mentioned you don't need the original, just select the box that states you submitted the LIUK during settlement. If you have a copy, then you can also mention the certificate number.

NCS staff in this instance is not aware of the rules. Ask the person to contact HO and seek clarification. They normally have a hotline and once spoken should be fine.

If they still don't book you then find a different NCS or try to speak their supervisor.

Reason I mentioned, please read my post again as I have mentioned already
that I don't need to submit the LIUK again. If you read my post carefully I insisted NCS to check the guidance note. But she is being silly and delayed booking an appointment due to this reason,
"We want orginial LIUK test in whatever case". even it is mentioned not to submit the original once submitted back in ILR app."

Therefore I wanted to know if someone had already been in this situation and the way I should dealt them.

I am waiting for NCS to come back. I have done everything to convince them, and tried to tell them to read the guidance note, and she is going to confirm with HO now.

thanks for your reply.

Ask the NCS officer to telephone the UKBA and ask them.

NCS (and PO check and send) staffs often follow standard 'tick-in-the-box' approach in dealing with the applications and are not aware of all rules and exceptions.
You are not the first one to face this issue - if you are unable to get this resolved amicably just find an alternate NCS.
