Passport Application - C2 form

Post by pbnf » Tue Jul 23, 2013 6:30 am

Guys

Can anyone confirm if we are able to submit a certified copy of our original passports when making the C2 / MN1 application in India? As I need to retain my passport, so I am able to travel back to work.

Thanks

It's better to post the question in your original thread then to open a new one as it gives the context to the question.

MN1 is normally applied from within the UK and using NCS will save you sending the original documents. If applying from abroad, certified copies are acceptable.

For passport, normally the Certificate of Registration is enough to prove your claim for BC and parents' passports are not required. However, BHC in certain countries might have a different process due to high rate of fraud. I suggest you check India - first child passport.

Jambo thanks for the update.

The process is so confusing, I just spoke to someone in the UAE embassy and he has informed me I could fly to London and get the C2 application processed by IPS UK and it will a lot easier.

I suggest you call IPS Adviceline on 0300 222 0000. The UK is changing the way passports are processed abroad bringing FCO passport activity under IPS. In a year or so, all applications would need to be posted to the UK for processing so maybe IPS (or HMPO as they are called now) would agree to process the application from the UK. Worth checking with them. I suggest you speak to several advisors or ask for a manager to make sure the advice is good.
