Tier-2 ICT to Tier-2 General Switch Process

Post by matwalaboy » Tue Jul 23, 2013 12:10 pm

Hi,

I have ascertained that I am eligible to switch from my current Tier-2 ICT to a Tier-2 General Visa, my question is what is the order of things below :-

1. Tier-2 General Sponsor Company applies for RMLT - 28 days in job-centre, leading dailies etc.
2. Post the 28 days they can offer me the job.
3. Process the Tier-2 General Visa through the Cos from the Sponsor Company.
4. Assuming Tier-2 General Visa gets granted
5. Resign from my current job (Tier-2 ICT sponsored)
6. Join Tier-2 General company officially.

Is the above order right, or does it need to be done any other way?

Regards

the order is right but you have to watch that the work start date in the CoS allows sufficient time to serve your notice when you resign. Also, avoid a postal application as it can take an indeterminate length of time and you cannot start with the new employer until your application is approved.

Thanks a lot Manci - what happens during the interim period of Tier-2 ICT expiring and Tier-2 General coming through i.e. I believe the ICT expires once I have resigned from the current company or how does that work?

Taking account of your notice period aim to have the start date in your new employment to be the day following the termination of the old employment
