Original TOEFL report not required?

Post by Acen » Tue Jul 23, 2013 8:22 pm

I recently applied for a tier 2 general leave. I used TOEFL to fulfill the English language requirement but had to go through quite a hassle because I didn't the original score report in time(postal delays).
However, I came across this on the UKBA website and seems like the original score report is not required anymore. We can simply submit a printout of the online report. Here's the link:

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/polic ... appendixo/

I thought this might be helpful to someone applying in the future so sharing it. For some reason the tier 2 information page on the UKBA website has an outdated document for english language tests which states that the original score report is required.

Is this applicable for all countries?

UKBA India website, for example, still states the following:

English language test

If you have passed an English language test, you must send your certificate. The original test result certificate must clearly show:

your name;
the qualification obtained; and
the date of the award.

You can download a list of approved English language tests from the rightr side of this page.

I know, it says the same on the main UKBA website. But if you open up the list of approve english language tests document, you will notice that at the top it says:

"The following is the list of English Language Tests that have been assessed as meeting the UK Border Agency‟s requirements from the
13 December 2012"

However, this link http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/polic ... appendixo/
suggests that after 6th april 2013, the original reports are no longer required. I'm pretty sure this would apply to all the applicants.

Could one of the senior members please confirm this? This seems like a recent change and might come in handy for people who are in the process of making their applications.
