Can anyone advise me as to when the new English requirement will be decided. Its states October but when speaking to UKBA they say its an intention but not 100 % as yet and keep watching the website, however my husband needs to apply for ILR in November and when trying to enroll in colleges we are told no enrollment until September and the waiting list are vast ! So how can people who require this B1 level gain it if colleges are unable to facilitate the course .

Anyone who is applying for settlement if the degree is comparable to a UK degree and was taught in English, should be fine.

Sorry to barge in, what if your dependent degree which appers on PBC and taught in English but PCB awards you no point?

is IELTS acceptable to fullfil the new english language requirments kicking in OCT this year? If so then which one "Academic " or "General training"? And at what level?

My understand is that if the degree is comparable to an English degree as per NARIC then it should suffice. You will have to wait for Home Office guidance to be sure.
