Tier 5 YMV or Spouse visa

Post by marrkuss » Wed Jul 24, 2013 1:08 am

Hi,

I am a 29yo Australian, and i have been with my british partner in Australia for 5 years.

He needs to return to England urgently, and i am undecided what the best approach would be for myself regarding Visa.

The tier 5 YMV seems like a very easy way of getting into the UK with the right to work, as i satisfy all the criteria and i see that the period from application to approval is quite a quick turn around.

I am worried though, that should i enter the UK on the YMV, and then apply for the spouse vise while in the UK, that the home office will question why i didnt go through the spouse visa process initially, as i had a British spouse.

What would be the best solution?

If you cannot meet all the requirements for a spouse visa, then initially try for the YMS.
