Last stage canada PR some doubts plese help

Post by akhil28 » Wed Jul 24, 2013 10:37 pm

I am Indian currently residing in uk on a dependent spouse Visa. I did my whole PR process from UK.

Canada High Commission received my application in August 2011. I was single at that time.

On 1st August 2012 I received a letter from them demanding additional documents such as : New application form IMM0008/ background declaration form/ form IMM5406/medical examination and PR FEES

The problem is : in the mean time I got married in October 2011, but on the second stage i did not declare my change of circumstances. I am not too sure If I declared my marital status or not.

2 days ago, I received an email from them stating them that I have reached the final stage of process and I have to submit passport, so the PR visa can be issued. There is an Updated Information chart. If I declare my spouse now, will they not question me, that why I did not declare in 2nd stage.

I will be sponsoring her visa later right now she is not accompanying me but will join me later. What is the best way to come out of this situation and the best way to declare my change of circumstances?

As I read online, that if it is not declared before landing, my pr might be cancelled and she will never be able to migrate with me. I want to declare as we want to migrate to Canada. I am aware it will delay the pr process longer as she has to go through medical and criminal check, which is fine, but I did my medical in January 2012.

I want to declare my spouse what is the best way to show the change in the circumstances at this stage;

Any Advice would be appreciated ...Thanks

If Canada High Commission has asked for your passport to stamp PR visa, this is the very final stage. You should just send passport and get PR status and apply for your wife later.

I have seen married people applying alone due to fees involved then go to Canada and if they decide to stay their permanently then apply for wife or family.

I don't think declaring married at earlier stage would have affected your appl either way. However if now you want to add your wife then your PR will be delayed.
