Best time to queue for tickets for OCI submission in London

Post by celesio » Thu Jul 25, 2013 12:14 pm

I'm planning to submit my OCI application in person next week at London. My question is what is the best time to queue for ticket collection that opens at 8:30?

I've heard that you need to queue very early to get a ticket?

I'd like to hear from anyone how has been recently.

TIA

if you reach there by 6am you'll probably be done by 10am
if you reach there by 715/730am you'll finish by 1215/1230pm

so be prepared for 4-5 hrs.

having said that i am not a great fan of these 'best timing' - we are setting the bar high. until couple of months ago it used to be relatively small crowd even at 7am but now early start is recommended. it's not far when you'll find 6am is probably late and people started queuing from 5am!

HCI should either outsource this to VFS or introduce an online booking process.

I prefer postal application as i do not live locally. As said on the website the applications acknowledged after 4 weeks and all the documents returned. I checked the status online after 8 weeks it's reached HCI Lon already. After reading many messages on this site I feel people worry too much. It's not a bad experience atall. If they have said that postal applications will take 8 weeks then give it tht much time.
