Weekly pay for Cat A - payslips

Post by SoHopeful » Fri Jul 26, 2013 9:18 pm

I plan to sponsor my husband using category a with weekly payslips. Are 26 payslips enough? Obviously monthly you would just submit 6-7 payslips, but weekly can I just submit 26 (52/2)?

In an ideal world I would submit a few more for good measure, but I get paid a week in arrears and I'm concerned my agency won't have the revised employment letter ready for when I leave the UK with the supporting documents next month.

6 months or 26 weeks should suffice. Remember for Cat A, the lowest month's (or equivalent weeks) Gross wage slip in the last 6 months x 12 must equal the required threshold.

Thanks Amber.

Initially, I ensured I did no less than 29 hours a week to achieve that, but having read the fm-se, I am using unsalaried pay so I stick to working out my average monthly pay over the last 6 months x 12 right?

That's correct so long as it is non-salaried employment.

Non salaried rather lol...

I am paid by the hour and only get paid for the hours I do. So I am right in working it out as above?

If you satisfy both salaried and non-salaried then there wouldn't be an issue. Non-salaried I would think would mean that your work is not guaranteed perhaps like a zero hour contract or as you say paid by the hour.

My husband's visa application was only submitted last month and we were told to wait until November for a response.

I am a temporary agency worker for a local authority and may be offered a permanent full time position earning in excess of the financial requirement. Can I accept and give the High Commission the new details? Or will my situation at the time of application suffice?

I applied using category A but have been in this current position for 1 year now. I don't want to jeopardise my husband's application but this new role will offer much more security because as an agency worker I can get as little as 1 week's notice if they no longer need me.

So long as you met the financial requirement previously then there shouldn't be an issue.

Thanks for moving the post Amber.

Do I need to notify the BHC in case they plan to carry out checks? If so, what documents would I need to provide?
