Questions in Tier-2 general dependent online visa applicatn

My wife (Indian citizen) and I (US citizen) are currently living in Israel. I am working and she is a house-wife (unemployed because of visa regulation). I have a job-offer in the UK (an A-rated sponsor with valid CoS). We just finished filling up my online form (Tier-2 general main applicant), and are currently working on her, Tier-2 general dependent, form and come across the following questions (in the Tier-2 general dependent form):

1) Do you receive income from any other sources‚ including friends or family?
--Well, she is unemployed and living with me in Israel, so should we answer NO?

2) Do you have savings‚ properties or other income‚ for example‚ from stocks and shares?
--Well, she has some savings in her country of origin, so we answer YES.

3) How much of your monthly income is used to support your family members?
--What should we write here? Its just us two in Israel.

4) How much do you spend each month on living costs?
--We are living together so what should we write here?

5) Are there sufficient funds to support you and any other dependants?
--What funds do they mean by this? Are they talking about the first month accommodation? My A-rated sponsor can support both of us for the first month.

6) Please state the amount of money available and total number of dependents
--What should we write here? There is no one depending on her - she is the dependent in this case.

are you sure you are using the correct online process for your wife's application?

The paper application form for dependants is VAF10 which is downloadable, together with the guidance notes, from here :

the questions online should be the same as the questions on the paper form.

BTW - your (main applicant's) paper application form would be VAF9, details here:

Yes, I confirmed it by opening a mock-account and did the same... I am filling up the correct forms.
For some reason VAF10 paper copy doesnt match the online form... Do you want to try it please??

I go for Work -> PBS Tier 2 General -> Tier 2 general partner, and I end up with these questions.

Hi Satya...
We are in the UK now, our application went through smoothly and got the visa in about 2 weeks (14 full days / 10 working days).
Yes, Work -> PBS Tier 2 General -> Tier 2 general partner was the correct form to fill.
But when submitting the application in Tel Aviv we added 2 things (apart from the online application form, reqd documents, etc) -
(i) a filled and signed VAF10 paper form (for my wife)
(ii) a letter telling them that since the online and paper VAF10 din't match in format or questions, we are, along with the online VAF10 form, attaching the filled VAF10 form.

And as I said, everything went smoothly. Let me know if you have more questions.

Did you get a reply, either verbally or in writing?

I submitted the "letter" (it was more of a note) while submitting my application. So, no question of expecting a reply... I just wanted to inform them that what the confusion was about and what I did about it.

Maintanence letter from 'A' rated sponsor -Original
Marriage Certificate-Original
Birth Certificate (for kid)-Original
Husband Passport copy with Visa
CoS copy
Employment letter of the Husband
TB certificate (for both wife and kid)-Original

Please add if I am missing something. How many days it took you to get this visa for your wife.

Well, along with these documents we also added our bank accnt statements n letter frm my bank stating that an amnt of 1500gbp wad in my accmt for full 90 days... We added these because of the confusion with the online form n paper form for vaf10. In the paper form things r pretty straightforward bt in the online form there ws no option fr a-rated sponsor mntnce, so we gave our accnt info. Again, its a matter of choice...

It took 2 weeks.

1. You should mention the correct number of years - mostly your contract will mention that.
2. If you haven't made an application, answer NO obviously... If you have, YES obviously...
