Irish Passport question

Apologies if this has been answered before. My husband and I got our approval letters in the 8 July batch, and hope to be in the 27 August group for the ceremony. Assuming that happens, shortly after that, we will apply for our Irish Passports.

I have checked the form and the online passport site, and both places say to submit original documents using passport express. Does anyone know if they return the original documents with the new passports? If not, is there an option to go to the passport office so we can retain our original documents? Mostly I don't want to have to get yet another long form birth certificate for each of us, and also want to keep the certificate of naturalisation.

just sent all the documents through passport express without any doubt. its best option according to my experience and others aswel. dnt worry you will get all your orignal documents with your new passport with in 3 weeks

When you make a passport application, they'll issue you with a tracking number and with that you can track the application online.
