After Post-Study Work Visa

Post by Liubov » Sat Jul 27, 2013 7:52 pm

I am currently on a PSW visa, which runs out in a month before my 10 years of long residence. I had previously finished my Masters degree. Can I take another masters course to cover the lacking month?
Many thanks!

You should try to go for a Higher qualification such as Mphil or PHD which will show your academic progress.

You can also choose another Master Degree course as long as it enhance/upgrade your current skills and qualifications.

I hope in the meantime your 10 yrs long residency period will be completed as well.

Good Luck :)

You can also post your Set LR 28 days before the 10 year anniversary of being granted EC.

"Please do not send us your application more than 28 days before the end of your 10-year qualifying period."
http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/visas ... rmset(LR)/

From the guidance:
There is a qualifying period to complete for a Long Residence application It runs either from
- the date on which you entered the UK with a visa; or, if you did not enter the UK with such a visa, from
- the date on which you were first granted permission to remain in the UK. If you entered the UK with a visa several weeks or more after the date from which it was valid for use, you may need to apply for an extension of stay to complete the relevant qualifying period.

Dems da rules.

But 28 days is not a full month.

You could make an in time application to extend and then vary the application to set(lr)

Other people have considered a FLR(o) application, by the time they even begin to process the application, you would have requested the variation.
