bank statements: last name miss spelt

Post by newbie_2013 » Sat Jul 27, 2013 9:19 pm

I am showing bank statements as one of my proof earnings. The problem is my last name was spelt wrong (a single letter is missing at the end of my last name). I've tried zillion times to get it changed, but only the new statements are showing up the ammended correct name, not the back dated ones which I will be showing for my ILR.

Any ideas to deal with this? I was thinking may be a letter from the bank clarifying this will be fine? BTW this is a foreign bank, hence all the fuss and can't 'pop' into a local branch and sort it out :p

cheers

This happened with me at the time of applying for my Tier 1 EC. But personally I dont think its a cause of worry. A detailed letter from you clarifying this should be fine. Also you need only last 12 statements for ILR. If you can get a letter from your bank by calling them and asking them to send it by priority post and that you are ready to bear all the admin costs, that should be fine

thanks for sharing. The reason I am including all statements is to show the proofof my name as it is correctly dispalyed on the new ones. I guess a letter explaining the situation would be fine.

cheers

yes hopefully it should. But I would keep a back up and arrange for a letter from the bank if possible.
