Please I will appreciate you honest advice on this matter.
I have a very close friend who has been in the UK for the last ten years. She came in and seek for asylum at the port of entry at Heathrow. Her asylum application was later refused, asked to come and be signing etc.
Someone was telling me today that people can apply for citizenship if they have been in the UK for ten years.
Can this be right and if so, under what ground will this be?
The friend above has since had 2 kids since she was in the UK since 2003 and she said a solicitor has made an application in 2009 to the home office to consider her on compassionate ground but she has not heard anything since then.
Please advice on this.
Thanks
