Naturalised - Have to travel India but Passport Expiring

Hi

I have been recently Naturalised and now i have to travel to india urgently.
but my indian passport is expiring 20th of august.

my query is
can i renew my indian passport? will they object saying that i am naturalised and i cant renew my passport of if i just renew it without mentioning about my naturalisation will it be considered illigal ?

my second query is :
Can i travel to india on my indian passport after Naturalisation? as i think my indefinate is cancelled the moment i got naturalised.
i am not sure what to do ?

please suggest

summary :
1. can i renew my indian passport after naturalisation as i have to travel to india urgently and i cant wait untill i get my british passport.
2. Is it ok if i travel to india on my indian passport as my ILR is cancelled the moment i got naturalisation i suppose.

In my own personal opinion if your country has no provision for dual citizenship i think best you wait...

If its urgent you have to travel i would explore the possibility of a travel document.

As far as I am aware you have to surrender your Indian passport within 3 months of being naturalised otherwise you will face a fine.

Indeed it will not be legal. You'll have to make a false declaration in the passport renewal form and later you'll be liable for penalty for the violation of passport act.

ILR doesn't get cancelled as such but it becomes irrelevant. If you wish to travel and return back prior to the expiry of your current passport you can do so. However you need to check with your airlines if they would allow you to fly with such short validity of passport.

further to add, the 3 months grace period is only for travel however passport surrender can be delayed upto 3 years without attracting any penalty as long as the passport was not used for travel beyond the grace period.

So i can travel on My indian Passport even after naturalised.
When i am back in Uk i hope they dont create a fuss saying i am naturalised and used indian passport !!
