Tier 2 General Job change

Hi

My tier 2 general was sponsored as a financial analyst (which was a switch from PSW ) and expires on 2015. If I'm changing my job with the same employer as a business analyst. Will I need a new Visa? Will my employer have to do a resident labour test(this was not required while switching from PSW to Tier 2 general)? Please assist

thanks but the exceptions for labour market test has

Tier 4 as a student and they have received final results confirming that they have passed and will be (or have been) awarded a UK recognised bachelor's or master's degree, or have passed and will be (or have been) awarded a UK Postgraduate Certificate in Education, or
have completed a minimum of 12 months study in the UK towards a UK PhD.

is this only applicable if tier4 was the last immigration category?

It is the job description that matters, not the job title. Look carefully at the job descriptions for SOC code 3534 (financial analyst), which is presumably your present SOC code, and 2423 (business analyst). Only if your new duties don't fit the SOC 3534 description will you have to make a change of employment application.

Also read paras 194 and onwards in the T2 policy guidance.

Thank you very much that helps, I'm just slightly unsure how my employer would react if they have to do a labour market test :shock:

remember that determining the job SOC code is the employer's responsibility, not yours
