Unmarried Partner of an EEA National (non UK Citizen)

Post by OZOZOZ » Wed Jul 31, 2013 12:22 am

Hi All

I'm hoping someone can help. I have read the FAQ' but still am unclear, so apologies if my questions have already been answered in another thread.

Situation:

I am currently living/working in the UK - on a PSW Visa. This expires soon.
I want to continue living/working in the UK. My partner is an EEA National (non UK citizen), she is exercising her treaty rights etc in the UK and we have been living together for two years.

My question is - what form should I apply with? I have been told it's best to apply for a un-married partner of an EEA National - VISA. Is this correct? I can't seem to find this form and what costs are associated with it.

I would really appreciate it if someone could let me know which form to use and if in fact this is the correct route for me to be taking.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks for this, really appreciate it.

My only issue now is that my PSW Visa expires Sept.28th and I am due to travel outside the UK around that time and will only be back on Sept.27th. Do you think I would be able to apply/send-in my EEA2 form on the date that my PSW Visa expires?? I'm afraid that the UK border control will give me problems when trying to come back in on Sept. 27 (day before my PSW Visa expires).

Thanks in advance for your help!

send the EEA 2 in now, Durable Partners don't have automatic rights as such... but include the request (in writing) for your passport to be returned immediately

unlike the immigraton rules, return of a passport does not constitute cancellation of an application under the eea rules.

however, they may not return the passport in time... You may end up requiring to cancel your travel plans, or have your partner travel with you...

ensure you take household bills etc showing you have resided together for 2 years.
if you do travel alone a copy of eea passport etc ... and ensure she knows when your coming back to expect a telephone call to confirm shes in the country and you are joining her...
