Switching from Tier 4 to Tier 2 after Study Abroad Program

Post by SWiltord11 » Wed Jul 31, 2013 11:04 pm

Hi,
I am desperate to come back to the UK as I have a workplace willing to sponsor me, but unfortunately my salary was only high enough for new entrant level which I am currently ineligible for.

I have completed most of my degree in Australia. If I were to obtain a Tier 4 Visa on the study abroad program and study for 6 months in the UK, I would then be eligible to graduate my degree back in Australia.

My question is, am I then allowed to switch from this tier 4 visa into tier 2, even though I would technically not be graduating in the UK??

You can only switch from Tier 4 to Tier 2 if you have successfully completed and been awsrede a UK degree. Study Abroad programmes rarely lead to a qualification from the UK university so it will probably not benefit you unless you hold a UK degree already.
