I forgot to touch in on the DLR one time. I never go on the DLR and there are no entry or exit barriers so it slipped my mind.

There was a ticket inspection and I got a penalty, which I paid.

I heard this goes on your record somehow? Is it true that it will impact subsequent Tier 2 applications, ILR applications and potentially naturalisation ones too?
