Maintenance for spouse entry of Settled person

Post by gre.bm691 » Fri Aug 02, 2013 5:08 pm

I am going to get married in August back home and will look to get my wife down here as soon as I can.

As soon as I come back, I will be applying for ILR in September (hopefully will get it without any issues) and then shall apply for her dependent visa.

My question is: What is the maintenance requirement for my wife's entry? Are there any special requirements I need to be aware of for the application?

Thanks

Just to confirm then, no maintenance of funds is required. Salary slips will suffice for financial requirement?

I am on ILR and my wife will be applying for visa TOMORROW. I have sent the following documents:

- Last year payslips- the latest being that of AUGUST.
- Last year bank statement- Latest being that of AUGUST.
- Company letter dated for October stating the salary and role.
- Personal letter dated for October

Will this be an issue? Obviously, i cant send my latest documents now as its too late. I was thinking of sending a scanned copy and ask my wife to mention this in the covering letter. Good idea?

Also, my passport and biometric photocopies are not attested. Its not mentioned anywhere on the site that it needs attestation. Can someone confirm?

See also Annex FM 1.7 and the specified evidence. What happened to September's payslip and bank statement? Send the scanned documents for September if you can.

Thank you for the reply. I have read the requirements and its no where mentioned the oldest document that could be sent.

I will send a scanned copy for Sep 2013. The payslip just took time to get to me.

Appendix FM-SE - Family members - specified evidence - Evidence of Financial Requirements under Appendix FM wrote:A1. (l) Where this Appendix requires the applicant to provide specified evidence relating to a period which ends with the date of application, that evidence, or the most recently dated part of it, must be dated no earlier than 28 days before the date of application."

Well, I have applied with the scanned copy of payslip and an online copy of my bank statement for the last month.

I hope this will be accepted considering that I have sent the 12 months evidence.

You should also send the actual wage slips and this month's if you can before a decision is made to be considered.

I wanted to mate. But I have no address to send it to. This was applied via VFS. Its mentioned in the guidelines (lin u have sent) that they can use decretion if the documents arent original:

*(d) If the applicant has submitted:

(i) A document in the wrong format; or

(ii) A document that is a copy and not an original document, or

(iii) A document that does not contain all of the specified information, but the missing information is verifiable from:

(1) other documents submitted with the application,

(2) the website of the organisation which issued the document, or

(3) the website of the appropriate regulatory body,

the application may be granted exceptionally, providing the decision-maker is satisfied that the document(s) is genuine and that the applicant meets the requirement to which the document relates. The decision-maker reserves the right to request the specified original document(s) in the correct format in all cases where sub-paragraph (b) applies, and to refuse applications if this material is not provided as set out in sub-paragraph (b).*

I will be sending my originals to my wife just in case they send a query. I believe it wont be rejected based on this but might delay the processing times.

You should be ok. However, you can send the additional documents to the ECO, VFS don't make decisions they just collect all the documents.
