UK born child status

Post by aarnags » Fri Aug 02, 2013 5:16 pm

Hi,

This question is on my friend's behalf.
Parents applied ILR in Aug2012 and got it Feb 2013.
they got baby in Oct 2012, baby does not have any passport or visa as of today.
Can baby directly apply for british passport or should go for naturalization ?

Thanks

Neither. If the child was born in the UK then s(he) is entitled to be registered a British by virtue of section 1(3) of the BNA on form MN1. Once the registration is complete, they can apply for the child's British passport.
