Re-entry to UK after Tier 5 Visa has expired

Post by JCanton » Sat Aug 03, 2013 10:22 pm

Hi, I'm an Australian citizen currently on a Tier 5 YM Visa. When my visa expires I am considering going to Italy for a couple of days then returning to the UK to catch a flight from London to Australia. My visa will have expired before I attempt to re-enter the UK to catch this flight to Australia. Will I be able to enter the UK a couple of days after the expiry of my YMV? Any information or assistance will be greatly appreciated, thank you.

If your intention is to get a flight then they'll let you in. If you were asking to come here for weeks or months then you might have a problem, but to get a flight no problem. Hold proof of your Aus flight booking because they might want to see it.

Thank you for your response, much appreciated! I thought this would be the case, but have not been able to get a response from the Visa office. Thanks again.
