LR - TRAFFIC OFFENCE

Post by rmkirfan » Mon Aug 05, 2013 3:45 pm

Hi Guys,

First I would like to thank this Forum and Many thanks for looking at query.

I m eligible for LR in Sep 2013.(2003-2013)

In 2008, I had traffic fines due to Inadequate insurance and speeding.
Offence codes as below -
SP30 - £120 fine paid - 06/08/08.
LC20 - NO FINE - 06/08/08.
IN10 - £180 FINE PAID - 06/08/08.
And also received 8 Points.
I didn't had to attend court, It was postal decision and paid online.
I heard these points will be cleared in 4 years, Which I believe is cleared.
Is this General grounds of refusal? Does this effect LR?
Can any one please share your experience or confirm my LR eligibility would be much greatfull.

Many Thanks,
Irfan.

Do you mean you accepted guilt via the post? Were you sent a summons from the magistrates? You can usually tell by the road speed limit and the speed you were travelling.

Many thanks for reply Amber ,

Actually caught by police for speeding on dual carriage way and found insurance issues and driving on motorways with provisional. Police filed that case and I accepted summons from court(cant remember which court) and paid the fine online.I had to send my counter part to receive 8 points.
It seems points must cleared by now.
Its almost 5 years, do you think its worth to have any checks?
Do you think this will effect LR?

Please advice?

Your convictions need to be declared. However, as 2 years has lapsed it should not be a general ground for refusal.
