ILR - unemployed whilst pregnant

Post by Meva » Tue Aug 06, 2013 8:01 pm

Hi,
If I take maternity leave I can claim my points for earnings by excluding the maternity period and prove maternity absence with child birth certificate and/or employer letter, medical documents.
I am planning to quit my job for personal reasons - so was wondering if I can still use the above criteria (i.e ignore period of unemployment by choice due to maternity) when am unemployed but on maternity or if there are any other rules?
I am currently on tier 1 general visa. Any clarification will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in anticipation.

If you are unemployed and you leave the country, then your ILR clock will be reset. Are you planning on leaving the country during this time?
Do not send me PM's with specific questions - post question in the open forum so others can also benefit from the answers.
