Using Irish residency to work in the UK

Post by ottaniger » Sat Aug 10, 2013 11:43 am

Hi,

I am a Brazilian citizen living in Ireland for the last 6 years. I have been here on the basis of working permits and now I have a temporary residency permit (I have applied for long term residency already).

I would like to look for a job in the UK. My question is: is there any facility due to my Irish residency status, or do I have to go through the normal sponsorship / tier system? I heard long-term residency in an EU country could be made equivalent in other EEA countries but I couldn't find information confirming that online.

Regards

I suppose this is the directive concerning this matter: http://europa.eu/legislation_summaries/ ... 034_en.htm

Can anyone provide more information?
