Documents for Postal Application

Post by iramkk » Sun Aug 11, 2013 9:44 am

Hi Folks,

Planning to apply via post for my naturalisation, as I cant get an NCS appt at my local council for at least 2 weeks. Also dont want to take a day off. So just need some advice as regards what documents I need to send along with my application.

Applying on basis on 5 year on HSMP & Tier 1 plus 1 year ILR

Docs I am planning to send:

1. AN form with payment slip
2. My passport
3. BRP card (as I cant find my original ILR approval letter)
4. Recent statement of account as I am self employed
5. Tax Returns and P60s for the previous 5 years (is this mandatory?)
6. English Language requirement letter

Are these enough or I am missing anything. Cant find an exhaustive list in the forum

Thanks
Ram

Documents needed Self Application

Post by VR » Sun Aug 11, 2013 9:57 am

Ram,

Refer to Page 15 of the Form AN which sums up all the documents needed.

Now regarding your queries;
3. If your ILR stamp is on the Passport then no issue. Even otherwise the ILR approval letter is a generally worded letter.

5. P60's/P45's of the past 5 years is a must as it proves that you have been in this country for 5 years. Latest tax returns is to assure them that there are no HMRC Dues.

6. If you passed your Life in UK Test for ILR already check the appropriate box on the form. Else you need to enclose the Original LIfe in UK Certificate and put the number in the field.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Important

a) Photograph
b) Make sure you have paid your council tax and all the stuff.
c) Make sure you call the DVLA helpline to check you do not have any traffic points or stuff. Many times due to people changing addresses this comes back to bite.
d) Any convictions you will need to submit the original court orders.
e) Make sure there are sufficient funds/drawing limits when you are using the payment form and putting in a credit card reference for the fees.

Last if you are applying with your family (joint application) then marriage certificate/birth certificate of kids etc will need to be enclosed.

Likewise if married to a british citizen the marriage certificate..

*** If you have just taken your Life in UK test********** make sure the document which was used to prove your identity for that purpose needs to be enclosed.

Hope this covers everything and helps.
cheers

( Thanks for your reply. There is no ILR stamp on the passport, but I have been given the BRP card. So I reckon I need to send it)

(Thanks, I will send all the P45s and P60s I have along with all the tax returns for the past 5 years)

"I dont have Life in the UK certificate as I passed the ESOL test, so I will enclose that"

I have already paid without any delay. Do I have to provide any evidence to this effect?

c) Make sure you call the DVLA helpline to check you do not have any traffic points or stuff. Many times due to people changing addresses this comes back to bite.

I dont have a driving license, so this doesnt apply.

d) Any convictions you will need to submit the original court orders.

None
